SPIRITWO BIO:
Singer/songwriter Yael Claire started performing 5 years back in Tel Aviv, accompanied by a wild vocal range, picturesque lyrics, theatrical persona, and a kickass attitude … creating a new musical experience.
The concept behind the music is to celebrate many extremes of the human spirit, a variety of dualities , or in many cases – a voice that we hide – a second spirit- a SPIRITWO.
Being influenced by musicians and artists that created challenging music with a tendency to flirt with mainstream pop– such as the multimedia artist Laurie Anderson, extravagant pop-rock idols Cardiacs & Faith No More – SPIRITWO creates individual tunes, that includes both sparkly light and deep dark feel, crafted into a pop track.
SPIRITWO was first embraced by Organ Magazine in London releasing her first single in 2007. That single was reviewed by Huw Stephens & Stuart Maconie (Radio 6), Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) Rock Show in California, Resonance FM & XFM.
Moving to London early 2008 SPIRITWO made a big impact on the East London arts scene, having been invited to perform at events such as Fashion Week together with PYMCA, Punch Drunk ‘Afters’ at the BAC and ANDREW LOGAN’S Wales exhibition. In addition, she have hosted and performed at a plethora of cutting edge platforms and queer events across London such as Ladyfest 2008 and 2010, and Headlining Hackney Wicked Festival 2010 with her powerful theatrical live show. SPIRITWO also participated in the The Leader of the Starry Skies Tribute Album For Tim Smith – Cardiacs’ Frontman, in 2010 which also included performances by The Magic Numbers, Oceansize, Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree) & Rose Kemp.
Now working on her first full London based album in May – capturing the underground vibes of the East End, where she resides, and adding her own depth and twist – the album and the performance is a gem full of power and magic that consist of a unique vocal abilities, musical diversity and strong visuals.
This show invites the audience to explore an inside journey that consists of the highs and lows, the east and west, and the soft and hard that exists in each one of us – working with live music, vocal effects , props and video screens to create an exclusive blend of humor and fright making both your heart and feet jump.

“The SPIRITWO thing started as an experiment in singing/songwriting & turned into a lifestyle:
Emerging as a bombastic singer/performer at nights in underground clubs. In the daytime some people would recognize me despite of the hairstyles and the dramatic aperences on stage – some would recognize me by my VOICE, and some woud never connect the PHENOMENON on stage to the ordinary girl who i am. This combination of the ‘TWO’ of us – can confuse some people, but i guess i’ll always remain that HYPERACTIVE ARTISTIC TOMBOY with some ‘burts’ of a diva….Whatever it is – its got to be ALIVE – and in your face – kind of SCARY but deep… and funny TOO:-)…
